Have a HAPPY halloween....

Well after about 6 costume changes per kids we have narrowed it down at our house... Addie is going to be a hot dog, which if you know Addie is so off character- she is girly and princess to the core, but thanks to an episode of "Sid the Science Kid" where there is dancing & singing food she has decided to be a hot dog. :) Lyla on the other hand started off as the hot dog and since morphed into a horse, a pumpkin, and now has landed on a butterfly.... we will see what she actually debuts on Sunday, or if she evens puts on a costume at all. :) Though our costumes may be in flux, the one thing I know is that my kids, along with Anna's kids- who will be trick or treating along with us- will be sporting I.D. ink.... because as Anna and I drink our wine and hand out candy- we can know that our kids are safe.... even with their fathers who have jimmy-rigged a cooler onto the back of the wagon that they are pulling... :) Happy Halloween!

Neti Pot... how I love thee...

To be honest- I always kind of thought being sick was nice... sure- you feel like crap but people wait on you, you get to sleep all the time, and when you were younger you got to miss school.... all good things right?? Well- being sick and being a mom is not glamorous at all.... you think you can lay in bed all day and rest but that never happens.... if you are in bed you are either interrupted by someone needing something every 30 minutes or you are only able to get a little sleep because "Word World" is playing on the TV while your almost 4 year old jumps on the bed!! It truly is amazing that we even get healthy when all our bodies need are rest, and yet it gets little to none because for the most part you do not have a choice. So in the mean time while I am fighting this sinus infection, headache, and extreme fatigue- the one thing that I can count on is the Neti- Pot.... a little bit of relief in a relief-free mom's world. And if you do not know what a netti- pot is- get on google right now because you need to!

Meet Anna....

So, Alisha, my rock star partner gave me a few words of wisdom on blogging etiquette when she gave me the info on how to get on our site.  I think she was a bit nervous. Ha! One of those was that I had to be likable.  Hmmmm…….maybe I better stop here thenJ

If you keep reading, it is acceptance that you have read and fully understand the disclosure above that I may not always being likable.  I already asked Alisha and she said I also have to be honest, so sorry no loophole there either:) Anyway, first of all thank you to everyone following our new adventure.  The support has been amazing and we feel the love.  It has been thrilling, inspiring, scary and fun all in one.

So, a bit about me, I am one of the co-founders of ID ink and am married with 2 kids of my own and 2 bonus kids in our circus tent (Alex 19, Jake 13, Bree 4 and Michael 2). Our crazy is the normal crazy of 2 working parents and 4 kids which many of you know.  Most days I enjoy my day job and it keeps me challenged so I am too busy to worry about the little things that would probably drive my type A personality (and my poor husband) nuts.  Every day I am more and more convinced that we all have our own version of craziness and somehow we all manage and just do the best we can.  Many days I don’t do very well, but thanks to an amazing support network of family and friends I keep trying. They say it takes a village to raise a child and I think we have more like an urban metropolis!!!!!
Stay tuned for more insight into the mind of a crazy lady and our adventures in managing the spilled milk in life, love, kids and everything in between.

Meet Alisha....

Hello Blog friends.... well as of right now- we have no one following so this is pretty much to myself which I believe is the first sign of insanity- talking to yourself.... but- I digress.... I am one of the co-founders of I.D. ink- I am a type A, organized, stressed, creative, busy, fun (I think), crazy person. I have a husband of almost 5 years who plays professional baseball for the Minnesota Twins and that keeps me being a single mom for 6 months out of the year but it is what it is :) So- as you now know- I am a mom.... to 2 girls- Addie (almost 4) and Lyla (2).... as far as more kids- well that is up for debate.... I try to be a good christian, wife, mother, friend, business partner, etc but like everyone I fail :) but at least I am trying...I have 2 tattoos and would have more if my conservative husband would let me. I think it is a woman's prerogative to change her mind and I like change when it is on my terms. :) I believe that the world would be a better place if everyone saw a therapist :) and I do not believe in regrets- just lessons.... stay tuned to find out more....
